This was really interesting to find! A few weeks ago not far from where this photo was taken, I got a shot of a beautiful Luidia aspera. That species of sea star feeds on echinoderms. I didn't get a photo of L. aspera today...but I DID get this photo of what it leaves behind after devouring its prey....that's a Pebble collector urchin test in the center of the sea star-shaped sand depression...I'm sure you can fill in the details!
