A juvenile Knobby sea star (Pentaceraster cumingi)...as I've mentioned before, these large sea stars are typically found in much deeper water...or so most reference guides say. However, I'm starting to doubt that--I keep encountering juveniles in the shallows, and today I also encountered a full-grown adult (see next photo in gallery).
